3. Implant retained dentures
Implants can be used to support dentures and thus prevent their moving around. The treatment that is required is very simple and provides tremendous benefit.
In the upper jaw, a great reduction of the denture can be achieved as the palate is free. In the lower jaw, the problem of a moving denture can be quite serious due to the great bone loss. Implanting the four implants into the jaw a greater stability of the denture can be achieved. Implants may have special abutments with retentive elements for dentures, such as balls and locators, or can be joined together by a golden bar.
A: implant with Locator abutment
B: old denture - new denture
C: Final result
